Taraji P. Hensonis enjoying life as it comes — and is in no big rush to plan her wedding.
Speaking to reporters Monday at the Los Angeles premiere of her new comedyWhat Men Want, the actress revealed that she and her fiancé, former NFL playerKelvin Hayden, have yet to finalize a wedding timeline aftergetting engaged last spring.
“I don’t have a date yet,” said Henson, 48. “I’m trying for the summer. I have scripts coming in, you know — you got to strike while the iron is hot —and he is patient.”
Still, she’s not sweating it when it comes to her personal life. As theEmpirestar explained with a laugh, “We live together, we’re not going anywhere. But trust me, we are getting married.”
“And soon! It won’t be a 10-year engagement!” Henson insisted.

Hensonannounced her engagementto the former Super Bowl-winning NFL star in May 2018, sharing a photo of her new diamond and captioning it, “I said yes y’all!!!”
“He started with the Cartier love bracelet BUT that was my #Mothersday gift and then he dropped to his knee and I almost passed out!!!,” continued Henson on Instagram.
Adding several emojis, theHidden Figuresstar wrote, “😩😩😂😂😂#sheisofficiallyoffthemarket and she is sooooooooooooo HAPPY!!!!!! #GODIS 💍💋💋💋.”
Henson — who has a 24-year-old son namedMarcel— and Hayden, 35, first confirmed their relationship back in December 2017.
