Rachael Kirkconnellwon’t let heartbreak get her down!
On Wednesday, Jan. 29, theBacheloralum, 28, shared a set of photos onInstagramof her trip to Tokyo with Matt James, 33, which ended in them going their separate ways.
She simply captioned the post: “still ♡ you tokyo.”
The carousel started with a snap of Kirkconnell smiling at the camera as she sat at a table. She wore a white sweater and had her hair pulled into a ponytail for the casual outing.

The post continued with a photo of Kirkconnell, wearing the same white sweater with a tan wool coat, as she drank a fruity beverage out of a plastic pouch.
The carousel went on to show more moments of their trip, including the various sights they visited and the meals they ate – but James does not make an appearance in any of them. However, one photo showed two chocolatey drinks on a countertop, one of which is green while the other is brown.
Jamesannounced the couple’s spliton Jan. 14, writing onInstagram, “Father God, give Rachael and I strength to mend our broken hearts. Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding. Shower our friends and family with kindness and love to comfort us. And remind us that our Joy comes from you, Lord 💔.”
About two weeks later, Kirkconnell opened up about the breakup on the podcastCall Her Daddy, where she told host Alex Cooper that she was on her flight back from Tokyo when she found out about his cryptic post.
“Literally the plane is taking off and I see his post, and that’s it,” the reality star said. “I don’t have any service or anything for the next 12 hours, so I’m freaking out because, you know, just got broken up with, and now, a few hours later, it’s for the whole world to see and I’m still trying to process it.”
“I’m still in total shock,” she added. “I think that’s why I didn’t say anything. Still haven’t made a statement or anything because I’m processing this just like everyone else is.”
Kirkconnell also saidthey had a stressful night before they broke up.

“The night before, we didn’t have an argument, but I was feeling very overwhelmed,” Kirkconnell said, explaining that they filmed “literally every single meal” because it was “his career.”
“I just put so much pressure on myself to find good spots if I’m the one that’s finding a spot,” she explained.

Kirkconnell felt “overwhelmed with looking for a dinner spot for an hour” and asked James for help but he refused and said, “It doesn’t matter.”
“But I felt like it was a big deal and that it did matter. So we get to this place, it wasn’t what I thought it was gonna be,” she recalled, adding that she cried “two tears” and they didn’t speak the whole meal.
When they were back at their hotel, he asked why she was so upset and was “not very comforting” as she tried to explain that she felt like she was “disappointing him.”
Kirkconnell said everything was fine when the couple went to bed, but they were irritated with one another the following day and had a conversation that spiraled into something bigger.
She said James told her, “There were just qualities about me that he worries about having in a wife. Like at the end of the day, there are things that we aren’t compatible with. And the whole accountability and saying sorry and all that was really the main thing.”
James ended their relationship and Kirkconnell immediately went to the airport to fly back to Atlanta.
