Prince EdwardandSophie, the Duchess of Edinburghhave unveiled their holiday wishes.

“Wishing you a merry Christmas and a happy new year from Edward, Sophie, Louise and James,” Eden reported. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are parents toLady Louise Windsor, 20, andJames, Earl of Wessex, 16, but didn’t include any photos with their kids for the card.

According to the reporter, the main image is a smiling shot of Prince Edward and Sophie taken in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 10, where they met members of the Ukrainian community at Edinburgh’s City Chambers to mark one year since the city’s formal response to the Russian invasion. The visit coincided with Prince Edward’s birthday, which was especially memorable because Buckingham PalaceannouncedthatKing Charlesconferred the title of Duke of Edinburgh on him. King George VI created the title forPrince Philipwhen he married the futureQueen Elizabethin 1947, and she was known as the Duchess of Edinburgh until her accession in 1952.

The couple chose a picture of the Duke of Edinburgh gently petting a Clydesdale horse in Garvagh, Country Londonderry in Northern Ireland in June, positioned beside a shot of Sophie at puppy training for Guide Dogs for the Blind in May. The Duchess of Edinburgh is the patron of the charity, which provides trained canine companions to people living with sight loss, andvisited Guide Dogs’ Reading centerwith her husband as part of The Big Help Out, a national day of volunteering in the U.K. in honor of thecoronationof King Charles andQueen Camilla.

Prince Edward and Sophie were front and center for the coronation celebrations, from sitting front row at the Westminster Abbey crowning to appearing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after the historic service with their children. Both individually and as a couple, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have taken on a heavier royal workload since the change of reign. Last December, King Charles named Prince Edward andPrincess AnneasCounsellors of State, giving them the power to royals can carry out constitutional duties on his behalf if he is abroad or unwell.
