While most parents warn about the “terrible twos,”Keira Knightleyis opening up about how she has had to deal with a “threenager.”
“Two, we were actually fine, she was an angel,”The Aftermathactress admitted toKelly RipaandRyan Seacrestof daughterEdieonLive with Kelly and RyanWednesday.
“Then you think, ‘Oh, I’m the best parent in the world,’ and then 3 happens,” joked Knightley, 33.
She explained that “there has been a lot of slamming doors and ‘Go away!’ And you think, ‘I can’t go away, you’re 3! There’s no way to go away.’ ”
Knightley shares her daughter with her husband, Klaxons’ keyboardistJames Righton. The pair first started dating in 2011, getting engaged a year later and marrying in 2013.

And Edie is now actually 3½ years old, with theNutcracker and the Four Realmsstar explaining that the extra half year has made a big difference in her daughter’s demeanor.
Later, she added, “We seem to have gotten out of that [threenager phase] and nowshe’s intoPAW Patrol,”with a pained look on her face.

It’s the theme song that the formerPirates of the CaribbeanandLove Actuallystar can’t stand — but as with many children, the show always seems to suck her daughter in.
“It’sthese dogs that save things,” she explained to Seacrest and Ripa, joking, “I can plug her in … It’s likeThe Matrix, like you plug her in and she’s just there. But it’s so annoying, the theme tune, and it’s only about 7 minutes or something so the theme tune happens a lot.”
Knightleyalso recently opened up toBalancemagazine about the challenges that motherhood bring, admitting that the physical changes, sleep deprivation and new lifestyle with her partner can be “really f— difficult.”
But she told Ripa and Seacrest on Thursday that she had a “life-changing” victory recently, with her daughter finally sleeping through the night since September.
The Aftermathopens Friday in theaters nationwide.
