Once dialed in , we need to see just what this high speed Weatherby boasting was all about ! A booster at the range let us bug out a few rounds through his chronograph to measure the muzzle velocity of the 100 grain whole copper Barnes TSX .257 bullet and , as Weatherby exact , their factory circle are fast — 3623 pes per 2d tight ! The friend who had shot before me was 1000 foot per second slower with his 7 millimeter Mag and a 120 grain bullet . This speed goes a long way in keeping that long range flight super bland .

I held over about 1.5x the size of the target , and after 4 nip I was not able to unite . We could see the dust cloud of the round landing nearby , but not on target . A small zephyr has the very mellow potential to throw these light rounds around at that long of a distance .
The fact that I could hit the sword out at 400 yards with minimum clutches over really impressed me . I am sure-footed that any shot I take next month under 300 yard will be dead on .
Wes spend most of the day shoot my 40 year sometime .243 Winchester Model 70 , while I had my fun with the Weatherby . We each went through 60 rounds of ammo and neither of us felt too mad after the day was over , I do n’t reckon you could say the same if you were shoot any rifle over the .300 quality size .
