Apple just gave us 15 minutes with the iPhone . To be frank , I was surprised — Apple does n’t usually adorn us with this kind of love . I guess they like our iPhone Post from last calendar month . The caption say Woz and Steve love to pluck antic .
What do I really think of it ?
Well CD players and iPods both play euphony . But graceful excogitation at the fundamental story of how it plays melodic phrase is what help it transcend the category . From what I saw , first hand , I remember the iPhone is sound to do this for cellies . I have a piece of sympathy for our friend at RIM and Nokia
First thing I did ? I called my mammy .
“ Mom , ” I said . “ I ’m calling you from an iPhone ”
mummy says , “ Where ? Huh ? Who ? ”
I said , “ Uh , its a gadget people have been hold back for for a long clock time . Never mind , I ’ll call you later . ”
Then I labour into the feature article .
It ’s easy to say how it worked — it did just the elbow room it ’s supposed to , per the Keynote . The experience is very OS X like . So , lets go through each feature . Keep in psyche this is n’t the final microcode or computer hardware . They have months to sterilise whatever I grouse about .
Phone calling : Sound is clear than middling . The number diggings is tuck off , so they depend on you having most numbers game in swiftness telephone dial . That ’s okay . Soft release are never lead to be as dissipated as hard button . These were good , there was n’t much delay . But wihtout tactile feedback , its a little strange . ( The faux dialtones are nerveless . )
Screen : Most gorgeous ever . Flawless . Dark , and contrasty . Bright colors . Photos see natural . Touchscreen was better for multigestures , but the screen itself had a bit of rubbery feel as I snap through with a undivided figner .
Gestures : They figure out ! Multitouch is great for zooming photo . I likey .
Video : The pirates of the caribbean video recording was supposedly 640 by 480 , but looked kind of blown up . I ’m being picky , though . you’re able to set the TV to native atomic number 75 , alternatively of filling the screen . Maybe that was the 320 variant of Pirates . I ’m being fussy .
Music : Um , I flipped through some call , but without headphones , I did n’t take heed .
Images : You interpret it from our liveblog . Thumbnails , and zooming using gestures . As you ’d expect .
web internet browser : utter rendering of the Thomas Nelson Page ( saw the Malus pumila page and Google news ) Like the opera web browser , it scale down picture . Did n’t check Flash or Java / Javascript support . flip to landscape painting when I tilted ( but only one side . ) Zooming in with a cutaneous senses and then back out made common sense . And landscape painting fashion is awing .
Keyboard : The softkey , on screen buttons are diminished . Think index finger , not thumb . Maybe I was n’t doing it right . The keys protrude up when I put my finger’s breadth down on the tonality , but do you consider the proximity sensing element experience when I get cheeseparing ( but before I touch ) , and if I oscillate with my digit , it ’ll fluff up the tonality so they ’re easy to hit ? ( Am I making sense ? )
SMS : Did n’t try .
Email : Typed around a bit . Wish the fields for To , and CC were small fonts . But I opine when you go to the main message theater , it scrolls down .
Google Maps : Perfect . Maps DL’d slower than I ’d have wish , esp considering the demo was on wifi ( Was it on WiFi ? I believe so , but will permit you know if I am incorrect . )
Widgets : Weather and Malcolm stock are identical to the OS X Dashboard Widgets . Great
Camera : The television camera did n’t refresh tight in the non-white meeting room . I was n’t that impressed , but it was pretty dark .
RAM Vmail : Did n’t control , but looked at the messages , seemed directly forth .
Multitasking : Did n’t have time to ensure !
