Asus just pulled out their Core i5 - powered , Windows 7 - running Eee Pad Slate tablet , calling it “ the most powerful pad of paper in the globe . ” in all probability so ! They proved their point by simultaneously playing 1080p video and die hard photo redaction software program .
The video recording seems to be pass without any problems , and the hand realization Asus is prove off is reasonably telling . So far so adept ! And it certainly look good on paper : 12.1″ multitouch IPS display ; 64 GB SSD with 4 GB memory ; 10.1 Flash capable , etc . It is sure enough big and spoiled , but what remains to be seen is how useful it ’ll be as a pad of paper .
Update : Hey ! bet ! Someone played with the Asus Slate over at theWindows Experience Blog . They say its a very equal to “ fellow traveller machine , ” though it definitely sound prominent : it “ match nicely between your hired hand and the malefactor of your elbow” … ”although I will admit that I found myself start out fatigued hold the PC up to confabulate after a few minutes . ”

in person , I ca n’t look for these stretchy tablets that Asus thinks are somewhere on the horizon .
