The full term " retrofuturism " is a comparatively late one . It appeared in the Wake Island of the technical advances of the 70s and eighty , when science made enormous footstep — but not always in the focal point the dweller of the early 20th C had anticipated . The aspiration of the past tense begin to look quaint and farfetched in a way that many found nostalgic .
