TheWatch What Happens Livehost, 55, appeared onThe Late Show with Stephen Colberton Thursday, where he opened up about what it was like when 4½-year-old sonBenjamin AllenmetCherfollowing her performance at theMacy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

“He was in the middle of a major tantrum because I was removing him from the Macy’s Day Parade,” Cohen shared, explaining, “Once she came on, in my mind, the parade was over.”

“She is my Santa,” Cohen laughed. “For him, Santa signified the end of the parade and when I removed him, he was — he could not believe we were leaving.”

But the meltdown didn’t cease when father and son ran into the iconic singer on their way out. “We ran into her in Macy’s when we were departing and Ben was flipping out. He was in his feelings.”

“I said, ‘Sorry, he does not want to leave,’ and then she said, ‘Then stay,'” he recalled, adding, “I was like, ‘It’s over. You sang your song. We are done.”

Cohen previously shared a photo of the moment, writing, “THANKSGIVING! Ben met Cher! (And so did my mom!)” Cohen began the caption of his post. “He was in the middle of some feelings, but it happened and I feel like my work here is done. 🙃.”

“What a lovely morning at the parade with the family,” he continued. “Happy Thanksgiving wherever you are.”

Added Cohen, who is also dad to 20-month-old daughterLucy Eve: “Thank you for being a part of my life.”

“Ben, I don’t like coming downstairs and finding you with the gingerbread house in your mouth. Do you understand me? Why do you do that?”

“It’s just so yummy,” Ben adorably replied.

“I’ve told you not to eat the gingerbread house. I’m sure it is yummy, but I don’t think you’re supposed to eat it, Ben,” Cohen replied before asking, “What does it taste like?”

“It tastes like something so good, like a cookie or something,” Ben replied, clearly enamored with the discovery.
