The statue itself though gives us a hazard to see just what ’s different about the newfangled Ultraman design . astonishingly , if you were expecting Higuchi and Anno to have done something standardised to what they did for Shin Godzilla , you might be surprised that , well … he look like Ultraman .

There are some differences , albeit very minor . The iconic Color Timer that ’s been a part of every Ultraman pattern since the original — the breast jewel that pulses different colouration for when Ultraman is either offend or about to feed out of transmutation clip — is absent . And the cherry-red pattern on the character ’s leg and arms is more angular and penetrative compared to the rounded edges ofthe original suit .
