Another round of layoffsis afoot at Amazon , and for the second time , it ’s happening at the fellowship ’s video games division .
Amazon employees invite an e-mail about the layoffs Monday first light , as first reported byReuters . more or less 180 occupation will be eliminated in the retail merchant giant ’s games section , which was responsible for publishing several game include MMOs such asNew World , Lost Arkand aLord of the Rings undertaking .
“ After our initial restructuring in April , it became absolved that we demand to focus our resources even more on the areas that are growing with the highest potential to drive our line of work ahead , ” according to an e-mail from Christoph Hartmann , vice president of Amazon Games .

Hartmann ’s electronic mail did n’t go into much specifics about what position were eliminated , but he did say theCrown Channel on Twitchwould be shut down as well as itsGame Growthinitiative . The fellowship would also “ refocus ” its Prime Gaming offering , which are free games available monthly to those with an Amazon Prime rank .
Amazon Games was slay with layoffs earlier in the year when the caller announcedit was laying off 9,000 employeesback in March . That one shot of layoffs , along with earlier round , combine formore than 27,000 jobs lostin 2023 .
