MagSafe is really wondrous tech , the MacBook ’s most underrated feature . Would n’t it be keen on the iPhone too ? That ’s what the Kickstarter for a battery charger and battery pack call “ Cabin ” is shooting for . And even if it never actually happens , it ’s a squeamish fantasy .
Cabin wo n’t upgrade your iPhone to exchange its charge port or anything ( duh ) . or else , it would provide you with a little Lightning - port cud that has a magnetic MagSafe - esque connector on the far side , which you may use easily snap the phone into the Cabin battery pack or dock .
MagSafe - esque , because the magnetised crack - in functionality is where the similarity begin and end . While there are plans for a little Lighting cable adapter that make it look and function like a mini MagSafe cable , this would n’t rent you institutionalise your phone with your laptop cablegram or anything because it ’s not the same kind of powerfulness .

As cool as this idea is , it ’s also only a Kickstarter , so there ’s no guarantee it ’ll ever survive . Especially in this case , where the folks behind it readily admit they still have a clump of security certifications and licence business to take care of before they could ever dream of mess bring out these thing . And if that fall down through then WOMP WOMP .
Still , it ’s a enchanting picayune estimation ; snapping a charger in with magnets is never not wonderful . And since Apple just become through all the bother of introducing Lighting ports , there ’s minuscule chance anything like this could happen through prescribed Apple channels . But hey , it ’s nice to dream . [ Kickstarter ]
