An Australian bride-to-be is searching for herwedding dressafter her fiancé accidentally left it on the roof of his car.
It wasn’t long before they realized their mistake. “We were pulling into Burnside Village [a local shopping center] when the penny dropped for him, and we quickly turned around and tried to retrace our steps,” Cain told 7 News.
“We parked the car and walked along Port Wakefield Road with trucks going 90 kilometers per hour past us, trying to find the box somewhere on the side of the road," she continued.
Sadly, the couple had no luck, and now Cain has put forth a $500 reward for anyone who finds the box and the dress, which she said is labeled with her name.
If the dress doesn’t turn up in the end, Cain still has plenty of time to get a replacement, as her wedding isn’t taking place until February 2025.
In the meantime, she is choosing to see the humor in the unfortunate bridal blunder.
“It’s going to make a very good speech at the wedding,” she told 7 News.
“For a man who isn’t very emotional, there were lots of emotions yesterday, lots of tears on his behalf because he could see how upset I was," she added of Mitton.

In a similar story back in 2020, a bride named Narolin Cepeda and her family were traveling to Ohio for the wedding when the bride’s mother accidentally left behind a roller bag containing her daughter’s wedding dress after the group went through security.
Cepeda’s brother, Christopher Cepeda, contacted the TSA’s Lost and Found Office but wasn’t all that optimistic about recovering Narolin’s dress. “As soon as I submitted the request, we lost hope of retrieving the luggage in time for the wedding,” he told theAsbury Park Press.
Nathan-Gordon arranged for the bag to be shipped overnight to Narolin, and it arrived at 8:55 a.m. the next morning — just in time for the bride’s walk down the aisle.
“She literally saved my sister’s wedding,” Christopher said of Nathan-Gordon. “If it wasn’t for her, everything would have been a disaster.”
