Reach For The Sky
I photograph trees all the time , but this was a special challenge , because most trees are vertical , and if you buck them upright , they do n’t lend themselves to be used as wallpaper . That being say , I give way in search of diagonal or horizontal trees . I find some , but they were n’t spooky enough . I came upon these two in the middle of a cow lea environ by an electric fence . So I tolerate in the roadway with my long lens of the eye and captured this image . It was extremely difficult to isolate the tree diagram against the sky when I could n’t get any closer than about 100 yards , but I ’m pleased with the results . I used my trustworthy previous Canon 5D with my Canon 70 - 200 Zoom .

Stormy Day
This photo was make at Joseph D. Grant County ballpark in San Jose , CA . I was using my Nikon D3300 DSLR television camera . It was a tempestuous day but there was a windowpane of no pelting for a few hr where I was capable to get this guess . I require to get a shot that showed not only the tree but the tempestuous clouds in the sky . This character of tree diagram has always reminded me of those spooky Tree you see in Halloween animated cartoon and movies so I wanted to make the photo as grim as potential while still being able to see all item understandably . I hope you revel the photo .

Forest Full Of Ghosts
Hey , I see your contest in BlinkFeed and when I was in the mountain today I decided to direct you a photo of a tree when I was pass on through a woodland full of specter . Some of them were lost souls , other were stucked with no way out . I do n’t have a professional camera and just used my phone ( HTC One M8 ) . I did n’t add up some calamitous - white effect because I reckon it is not necessary in this particular showcase . I gaze into the face of the death because at the end of their meter , everybody exit . Maybe . I included a photograph of me in the woods today . One of these fucking day , even I ’m gon na die . Maybe not . Do you see the ghost in the photo ?

The Moon
I ’m a beginning lensman and recently buy my first DSLR , a Nikon 7100 , as an update from just using my iPhone or my married woman ’s older DSLR . I ’ve been reading a lot of books and websites , and have started to feel my way of life around a bite more with camera configurations and post - processing .
decent after I scan the picture competition post I was walk our dog and saw that the moon was nearly full , but hidden behind a light level of cirrus clouds . This gave it a full-grown cloud ring which looked , to me anyway , very cool . I ran in and grabbed my camera and snapped a few shots while framing the moon different ways in the branches of our newly naked tree diagram .
Having of late tried some Milky Way picture taking from a Lifehacker article I had some basic ideas of options for a dark shoot . This was unlike though with the moon so bright . Since it was a branch line of the moment thing , I took the pictures handheld by bracing myself up against the public utility company pole in my front yard . I managed to get a evenhandedly unshakable shot that way . I forgot to rick on my lens of the eye VR , which would have aid .

I ended up overexposing it a bit , but I was able to fiddle around a bit in Aperture to get things to a scope that I am pretty happy with .

I used a tripod , a Sony NEX - F3 body and a manuel Minolta Rokkor 50 mm lens ( with mount adapter ) , using the camera ’s dark and white mode . The final range of a function is a composite , foregather in Photoshop , with the buildings shot with a farsighted exposure to get slightly more detail and the tree shot with a short exposure to get more definition of the branches .
